My Name is Linus

Linus is 4.5 months now and enjoying the typical baby lifestyle...walks, naps, toys and is starting to figure out how to pull the strings.
"Thanks for helping out here Dad, you should get a haircut soon."

Checkit! If you look real close, you can see the elephants tongue.
Linus is no longer the only one that likes to cuddle up with Snoopy.

The boys absolutely love to walk together. They are already talking about getting a winter sleigh and putting reindeer antlers on Rock...
Rocket watches the yoga mat as Mama answers the phone. Linus' method of practicing balance is to put a ring on his face and not let it fall.

A Day In The Life Of...

Linus has been busy lately, growing more hair on his head and talking to any dog or bear that comes near. He made it to his first arena this week just outside of Montreal. The most notable objects were the payphones and the horn (goal!). Speaking of goal, he enjoyed the Badger win over Boston College last night. Mom, Linus and Rock danced the Badger polka a few times before turning in. Today L's Dad will come home and Linus is sooooo excited to show him the tulip that is coming up in the backyard just in time for the 4 month birthday. Nothing gets Dad going like spring tulips and birthday cake.
"I can get that"

The boys wait while Mama cooks lunch.

All Dogs are Good Dogs.

Aaaahhhhhh. Turn off the light; would you?

Relative-A-Palooza

It started with Kyle and Justin coming up to visit for Justin's hockey tournament (he won by the way). Here are the pics with Aunty Tammy and Uncle Troy:

Then Grandma Patterson stopped by.

Linus felt as though he could manage more hustle and bustle so out on the road he was sent:
Uncle Jim and Owen were co-chairs on the Linus Welcoming Committee:

Bill and Lynne were quite popular at the post-baptism celebration:

There were games to be watched with Uncle John:
and lessons to be learned from Aunty H.

Of course, a party is only a party once Grandpa John gets Linus a drink from the bar. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

There is plenty of time for some pictures with Linus' God Family. Where's that Brendan John?

"So Linus, let us know when you have your own tool box and shovel. We'll teach you how to get some real work done." Tom and Dawn share their devotion to the 7-day work week.

Grandma and Grandpa discuss Linus' posterity one more time:

Thank you all for coming to meet Linus and welcome him to our world.

Briefing of Trip Return

Lunch at Lula's

Linus has now stayed at least one night in four different states and two provinces. He had a great time on his trip West, talking with wild eyes of big cities and mama-like accents. He managed to get to Notre Dame, briefly, before being taken to lunch at a college cafe. Lula's is a place for smart people, evident by the Rory Gilmour in 1 out of every 3 chairs. Enjoy the pics.

Picture Update

Zonked out after a long day.

Linus and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

On the way back from the dog park. Getting out of the back pack can be a bit of a chore.

This is the Linus-eye view of the car ride. The trip to Chicago in March should look something like this, but for 14 hours at a time.
On the way to the dog park. Linus got that Olympic inspired jacket from Jac and Jana (thanks). It is one of many Olympic inspired outfits. Apparently Mr. Linus' dad has been typecast a little bit.
There is nothing quite as satisfying as a game of bash the keys.

How I was able to be a part of producing a boy that handsome is beyond me.

Poop is Funny

I'm not sure if all his laughter through diaper change was due to the enormous achievement or to his mama's astonishment and the shear amount that he unloaded Wednesday afternoon. He sure was happy though.

Infant Wears Out Family Pet

Rocket catches some Z's while on break from working toy security at the LBR post. He is hoping to teach Linus the high value of sleep.

Happy 30th Grandma and Grandpa

Linus wanted to say a very happy 30th anniversary to grandma and grandpa.
Thank you both for everything. Your 30 years have produced children, grandchildren, laughter and love. That seems like a pretty productive use of your time!

More on Linus and Music

We have gotten lots of questions about the name Linus. Here are some examples:

Peanuts Character
Second Pope
Greek God
Chemist
Geek God

Also of note, Linus the Greek God was reputed to have invented rhythm. This is ironic, because if he wants to have rhythm he will have to invent it again, because he definitely won't get it from mom or dad!
